Police have received a report of the theft of two Pedal Cycles from outside a cottage on Diddywell Road in the Northam area of Bideford .This occurred between 9pm on Thursday the 5th june 2014 and 7.30am on Friday the 6th June 2014.Both bikes were secured by heavy duty chain to a downpipe.One cycle was a Burgundy Mongoose BMX and the other a Green Halfords Trax BMX with lime green and siiver wheels and a bell on the handlebars.Anyone seeing these bikes or with any knowledge regarding the theft is asked to call the Devon and Cornwall Police 101 no. quoting crime ref 079171/14.

A man who abused there dogs in his ex-partners home in Bideford has now been jailed.

Anthony who is 50 years old, has been sent to jail for 18 weeks by North Devon magistrates courts.The court had heard that Anthnony had admitted "TORTARING' the third dog by squeezing its paws The dog beating took place in Anthony's ex-parners home in Bideford, where she had lived with her son and daughter. It took place back in september 2013.The court had been told that Anthony suffered from depression and is not a very good sleeper.He had told the police that he just wanted his wife all to himself!Anthony was sent to jail for 18 weeks and is banned from keeping any dogs for 10 years. He was also told to pay his partner 1,000 in compensation.
