INSTOW
Instow is located, between Bideford and Barnstaple on the coastal path of North Devon, England. The small coastal village has the advantage of both town and country. Instow is easy to get to with the tarka trail and a small road passing though the village so you can come on foot bike or car. Instow has it's amazing views, you can look across the river to see the surrounding picturesque views of Appledore with its green hills. If you can take your eyes off of those great stunning views , there is the commanding and extensive views of both the river Taw and Torridge. As your eyes move just past this you will see the sea, with its great waves from Westward Ho! In the summer Instow becomes the home of the North Devon wind surfers due to its lovely blue sparking sea. When the sea is out it gives way to the long golden sand beach, with its sand dunes which is home to many rare species of orchid, Including the pyranid orchid. There's no better way to spend your afternoon than walking across the sand dunes with an hocking ice in the dramatic sunset. The van of Hockings ice cream is always parked up on the Instow sea front. Hockings is a small, long established business which is family run. Hockings manufacture and retail their own Original vanilla lce cream. With their recipe being handed down from many other previous generations. The business was founded in 1936 by Dave Hocking. Instow is a must to visit if your in North Devon. Even on the dullest days there is something to do and see, with the birds, people braving the weather to walk their dogs and fishermen fishing. Or maybe boats is your thing you can see the ships sail by from Bideford. Don't forget the railway when your in Instow its a must for anyone to see it was opened in 1848 but sadly it is now closed.
