Fire crews from Bideford called to help tackle Yarnscombe fire!

At just before 2pm, this afternoon fire crews from North Devon, which inculdes crews from Bideford, have been fighting a large fire in Yarnscombe.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire Service, said: “A fire engine from Barnstaple, Bideford , Torrington and one water bowser from Ilfracombe are tackling a plastics fire at a construction site.

We have been told, that the fire will take some time to put out and fire crews, will be working into the night.

A Bideford man has been arrested on suspicion of assault

A Bideford man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident on June 23.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which left a 25-year-old victim with two black eyes and cuts to the face, and which took place at the junction of North Road and Cold Harbour in Bideford at around 4pm.

Police believe there was a lot of shouting between the two males and that the incident only lasted a matter of minutes.

The 36-year-old suspect has been released on bail until August 5.
