THE POINT When we seek Christ, we find hope. Live It Out So how do you find hope? Information alone can’t do it. Let Jesus, the source of hope, transform you. Identify a circumstance that leaves you feeling powerless. As you enter that circumstance pray, “Jesus, please show me what to say and do.” Recognize Jesus’ trustworthiness. Identify several things in which you place your trust. Consider how Jesus is more trustworthy than each of those. Find someone who needs hope. Show Jesus’ love through a kind gesture. Identify Jesus as the one who taught you how to be kind. Can we ever truly find hope? Yes. Not only can we find it but we can experience it every day. Call off the search party. We’ve found our true hope in Jesus Christ. Don't Waste Your Life menofhonor Last time I checked, 10 out of 10 people die. Death is certain. But people don’t want to talk about it. Why? Let’s face it: We fear it. And besides, it’s flat-out uncomfortable and DON’T WASTE YOUR LIFE depressing to talk about our eventual demise. So what do we do instead? Author Os Guinness explains: “We are reluctant, even afraid, to admit that we all, without exception, will die. We surround ourselves with entertaining distractions so we don’t have to think about death. We tranquilize ourselves with the trivial.” 4 THINGS THAT DON’T REALLY MATTER it be more fun to actually be Santa Claus? Though the 1994 Tim Allen movie The Santa Clause clearly answers this question, it’s hypothetical because Santa is make-believe. The point is that you can get as much or even more joy out of giving than receiving. It’s fun to see other people’s dreams come true. It’s moving to meet another person’s needs. It can change your life when you lead someone to the Lord. God hard-wired us to share and give. Sin taught us to take and keep. What are the most important things in your life?
