Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is a term used to describe internet webpages that allow users to interact with the website instead of only viewing it. Web 2.0 is something that most people have interacted with on a daily basis! Signing into any social media page or checking your email. Web 2.0 can be used in countless ways in our daily lives, and can even transition over into our lives as educators. The number of Web 2.0 resources is staggering, for a list of 101 Web 2.0 Teaching tools, visit this website and let your imagination fly! Below is a list of a few Web 2.0 resources that I use and how I use them, I hope they help!

Prezi- Presentation resource that offers a more animated look compared to traditional slide shows

Twitter- Stay in touch with your students and remind them about upcoming assignments or answer questions, make sure to make a twitter account dedicated to teaching to prevent the mash up of personal and professional social media!

Google Drive- Collaborate, communicate, and create! Google Drive offers several options that make group projects easier than ever! Easy for peer reviews without wasting papers or shuffling through different copies of edits for a paper!

Google Classroom- Another amazing resource from Google. Makes developing and maintaining a digital classroom as easy as it gets! Students can submit assignments with ease and nothing is ever lost!

Edmodo- Works like a social media website, but with options to assign quizzes and other assignments, and provides an educational discussion board for your students

The options are innumerable, and are growing more and more all the time! Get out there and discover the Web 2.0 tools that are good for you and your students to transition more into a 21st century classroom!
