extended deliberate practice (e.g., high concentration practice
beyond one’s comfort zone) as a means of how expert performers
acquire their superior performance. Critically, Ericsson’s program
of research serves as a direct complement to other research
that addresses cognitive ability, personality, interests, and other
factors that help researchers understand and predict deliberate
practice and expert performance.

Dr. Robert Neal

Dr. Neal established golf biodynamics (GBD) in 2000 with the
intention of providing the best possible biomechanics service
available to golfers and teaching professionals alike. The GBD
philosophy toward performance enhancement believes in an

combine a scientific approach with the practical skills necessary
to bring about technical change, all of which is performed in
conjunction with the teaching professional and the athlete’s
own support network (which may include the athletic develop-
ment specialist, physical therapist, podiatrist, nutritionist, etc.).
has worked with many of the world’s top athletes. He also
has a private practice consulting business. Dr. Pirozzolo was the
Mental Skills Coach for the New York Yankees from 1996-2002,

ships. From 1988-1995, Pirozzolo served in a similar position in
uniform with the Houston Astros, for the Detroit Tigers (2000).
