College and Career Program Moving Closer to Her Dream This year has been very exciting for me. I attended Lone Star College for two years and in January I transferred to the University of North Texas to finish up my degree in biochemistry. My ultimate goal is to become a Physician’s Assistant. My heart is drawn to practicing medicine so I can help others live their fullest lives. I was able, through Boys and Girls Country, to meet an amazing PA named Jacqueline Thompson. She has mentored and advised me of the many benefits of a medical career, including the growing demand for skilled medical professionals. Moving to Denton has brought many new experiences for me: my first apartment, living alone, and paying my own bills. It’s been a challenge and I can honestly say my Boys and Girls Country experience has taught me how to be independent. It was difficult for me to leave my Boys and Girls Country family on the College and Career campus; they are my family. However, I’m grateful for the opportunity and
