Walk of Hope Tour College and Career Program Mentors’ Love Made a World of Difference After spending a summer at Lone Star College in Tomball and earning a 3.7 grade point average, I was accepted to Stephen F. Austin State University in the fall of 2014. While at SFA last year, I maintained a 3.0 GPA while working a part-time job. I became a member of a Greek fraternity, fully submerging myself into campus life. I am pursuing a degree in Business Marketing and am excited to learn of other fields that might be of interest. My original family had lots of issues, and I have learned many lessons from them about parenting, responsibility, and the danger and destruction of addiction - all lessons I won’t ever forget. Though they were difficult lessons to learn, they will be critical in helping me achieve my goals. Curious about life on our campus and in our cottages? Hearing my mentors on campus tell me they are proud of me is incredible; these are words I thought I would never hear. I’ve opened myself up to my College and Career family. I know they love me and that has made a world of difference. Today, I couldn’t be happier with my life. For once I am making choices to improve myself and my future. I believe in me, and I am so grateful for the opp ܝ[
