NOTES FROM N.GERVAIS
After some research on the history of journalism, it has come to our attention that
Benjamin Franklin had been the successful editor of “The Pennsylvania Gazette”.
Exactly 290 years ago, Benjamin Franklin and his partner Hugh Meredith purchased
the Pennsylvania Gazette that became the most successful newspaper in the colonies.
Benjamin Franklin used it to publish his various experiments with electricity as well
as stressing his political views.
It seems rather obvious to us that our magazine was to be named in tribute to
Benjamin Franklin. Although you will not find political views, we hope that you will
be “electrified” by some of the great students’ articles and different creative texts that
are contributing to this 1st issue of BFIS GAZETTE.
