on Plastic Surgery
In addition to the media affecting the mind it can also affect and individuals body. An example of this is displayed with the story of Heidi Montag. In 2005, Heidi Montag, a young 19-year-old from Colorado was cast on the hit TV reality show "The Hills." Montag soon became the center of tabloid gossip and later became obsessed with Hollywood “perfection”. In 2010 Heidi decided to make a drastic change to change her entire look. Today she is giving us the inside scoop on this transformation.
How many different procedures did you have?
“I had 10 in one day”
What are all of the procedures you had done?
“A slight eyebrow lift, my nose fixed, fat injections put into my cheeks and lips, I had my ears pinned back, my jaw was sawed down and reshaped, botox in my forehead, my breast done, my waist synched in on both sides, I had my back scooped, fat injections in my butt, and liposuction on my legs and stomach.”
Why did you decide to get plastic surgery?
“I felt like I was under constant media scrutiny for my big chin and nose, and I have just never been satisfied with my looks.”
How long was the surgery?
“ I was under the knife for 10 hours”
How did you feel after these surgeries?
“It looked like I had gotten hit by a truck. My face wasn’t even a face, I had to have my husband Spencer cover all the mirrors. It was so traumatic. I was bruised all over and in so much pain. It’s been a real spiritual transformation.”
How has this been a spiritual transformation?
“ I almost died after surgery. I had to much Demerol for the pain, like Michael Jackson, causing my breaths to be only five per minute.”
Why did you do all of the procedures at once?
“I just figured I would get it all done at once so I wouldn’t have to go back and keep being put under anesthesia”
How old were you when you got all of the procedures?
“I was 23”
What was the most painful of the procedures?
“Getting my ears pinned back”
What did your husband Spencer think about you getting all of these procedures?
“ He was very against it and he really didn’t want me to get anything done. He thought I was really risking my life”
Do you regret your decision to get these surgeries?
“I don’t regret my decision because it’s impossible to reverse it, but if I could go back in time I wouldn’t do it again. It has caused so much stress on my life and I really wasn’t prepared for the repercussions”
