Growing a Career in Opera Bethlehem member Alma Neuhaus is going full steam ahead in pursuing a career in opera. She will graduate from St. Olaf College in May with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance before joining the Mill City Summer Opera for this year’s production in July. Then in August, she will fly to Germany to sing with the Berlin Opera Academy, where she has been selected to perform the role of Third Lady in their production of The Magic Flute by W. A. Mozart. Hundreds of singers from around the world audition each year to be a part of this professional training program that helps build a foundation for an operatic career in Germany and beyond. In preparation for this opportunity, Alma plans to hold a fundraising recital in June to help defray the cost of the program, which will include operatic selections and art songs.
