Care Ministries
We pray for peace and
kindness in our world...
Walk together, talk together, O you
people of the earth, and then, only then,
can you have peace. (Vedic Teaching)
If I had one prayer, I’d pray for people
who hate
Maybe I’m out of my mind…or deep in
my faith
A man grows old…when his soul’s in
pain
Only love can loosen that chain
But if I offer you grace, will it cause any
change
And do I appear weak, if I calm my rage
I think of revenge, but will I become
the thing that I despise, when a
heart goes numb
I’ll say a prayer, hoping it finds…
people who hate
I send it now, to heal the hearts… of
people who hate
If a cold mind…could begin to feel
Then the fear in our world…has a
chance to heal
All of our thoughts…can set the stage
For the power of love…is larger than
rage
When we take revenge...we will
become
The hate we despise…as our soul goes
numb
I have one prayer…for the world to
hear
It is a cry for mercy…the last of our
tears
Let hate dissolve…let the past reveal
that love has shown us what is real
I’m sending One Prayer, to heal the
hearts…in people who hate
May all be loved, may all be blessed, may
all feel peace…pray for people who hate
I’m sending love to people who hate
I must be out of my mind…or deep in
my faith.

SOLE CARE FOR SOULS
Sole Care for Souls is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteer doctors
and nurses who provide foot care for the homeless. Funding is done totally
by donation. Homeless people walk an average of 7 miles a day so foot care is
important. This program provides each client with a warm foot-bath, nail care,
treatment of any foot problems and a new pair of socks. A group of volunteers
then prays for each client for a week, addressing any requests the client may
have.
To support this program, the Minnetonka campus will collect NEW socks, all
sizes, for men, women and children, during July. Socks may be left in the basket
marked "SOX 4 SOULS" located behind the Volunteer Desk. Financial donations
may be left in the church office.
FREE SPIRITS
"FREE SPIRITS" (Minnetonka campus) is a
young-at-heart group of people who are 55
years or older. They meet every month or
two with goals of fellowship, entertainment,
new knowledge, and service to others.
Some of the activities in the past included
plays, musical events, slides/lectures on
China, Russian churches, South Africa or the
Civil War. Tours have been to Luther Seminary, the ball park, Dead Sea Scrolls,
Woolen Mills, Russian Museum, and LSS. Programs have included Ole & Lena,
the Reformation, boat rides, Mini Golf and Como Park. Service projects have
included assembling LSS health kits and Feed My Starving Children. We even
sponsored the Synod Band one year.
Come join us so we can become acquainted.
