Care Ministries Healing Touch at Minnetonka! The Healing Touch Ministry is now available at the Minnetonka Campus! Katie Gross, RN BSN HNB-BC CHTP, will lead the Minnetonka Healing Touch Ministry. Katie Gross is a proud graduate of the University of North Dakota with over 13 years of experience in the nursing field. With a variety of experience in intensive care, hospice, and nursing leadership, Katie has always had a holistic approach to her nursing practice. She became certified in Healing Touch in 2018 as well as obtained board certification in Holistic Nursing. Katie is the founder of Healing Balance, an integrated nursing practice in which she integrates her traditional nursing practice with the practice of Healing Touch to assist clients seeking new strategies in their health care live with vitality and wellness. Mental Health Connect, an interfaith collaborative ministry now includes 12 congregations. New collaborative members include Living Table UCC, Redeemer Lutheran, Nativity Lutheran and The Basilica of St. Mary. New Bethlehem Mental Health Connect Ambassadors We welcome Jane Terpstra and Gail Feichtinger and their passion for reducing the stigma of mental illness. MHC Navigators and Peer Support Navigator In Action Our Navigators offer free and confidential support for our collaborative congregation members and individuals who seek help. Our Navigators provide a range of social service offerings via their Daily Outreach and Drop-In Center programs each week. Some examples of resource support recently offered by our team include: therapy options for a mom worried about her child’s well- being, resource navigation for an individual who needs a prescriber to write prescriptions, support with insurance applications, options for mental health day treatment services for a teen, and more. Caregiver Advocacy and Resource Education Join us to learn valuable information on important topics, geared toward caregivers, but relevant for others as well. You may be a caregiver for a loved one, or seeking information about care giving or supporting an aging family member in the future. After the one hour presentation, there will be 30 minutes of social time to connect and benefit from the experience, skills, and wisdom of others. There is no fee, the series is funded by the Live Well at Home Grant. January 15 - Make Wellness a Priority - Bethlehem Twin Cities (MPLS) Caregivers are at increased risk for a number of health problems, and self-care is a crucial factor in addressing these concerns. Attend this seminar and learn how to take care of yourself both psychologically and physically. Monday Night Mental Health Speaker Series Meeting on the second Monday of the month, each session begins with a light supper at 5:45 pm, followed by the program from 6:30-8:00 pm. A Certificate of Attendance (CEU) for 1.5 hours is available for the presentations attended by mental health professionals and students. Each event is free.
