What could be better than offering comfort to a baby?
The Bethlehem Lutheran Church Twin Cities Healing
Touch Ministry will present a workshop on using Healing
Touch techniques with babies. Participants will learn
basics of Healing Touch therapy and how to use gentle
Healing Touch techniques with children up to one year
old. These techniques are helpful for calming, soothing
discomfort, and boosting the immune system.
This workshop is open to parents, parents-to-be,
grandparents, and all those interested in caring for
babies! Mothers who prefer to have their babies with
them are encouraged to come with their babies.
To register, please call 612.312.3400 or visit bethlehem-
church.org. Questions? Contact Karen Morey, CHTP, at
612.824.9659.
Hospitality Opportunity with The Gathering
The Gathering provides a day of stimulating activities to engage the minds
and bodies of those experiencing early to mid-stage memory loss while their
caregivers have a day of respite. The Gathering meets the first four Thursdays of
each month and is staffed by a group of specially trained volunteers. Nutritious
lunches are prepared by volunteers who enjoy cooking and serving others.
We have been blessed with a group of very dedicated cooks and are seeking
a few new volunteers to take a turn. Food is prepared at home, and can be
heated up in our Langemo kitchen. Simple meals are great as long as they are
nutritious. Soups and hot dishes are favorites, and one of our cooks is known
for her delicious sandwiches! Each week, approximately 25 people are served.
Someone will be available in the Langemo kitchen to help you serve the food
when you arrive and to assist with clean-up. The cost of ingredients to make the
lunch will be reimbursed. You can volunteer to cook just one time, once every
few months or once a year on a Thursday of your choice. For more information—
or if you are ready and willing to volunteer—please contact, Barbara Raymond
at [email protected] or 612.278.2313, or Pam Gerber at pgerber@
bethlehem-church.org.
If cooking isn’t your thing but you would be willing to assist with serving, we
are also looking for someone who would be willing to come to Bethlehem and
help set up and serve on some Thursdays for a couple hours. Let Barb or Pam
know if you could help with this. We hope you will consider using your talents to
support the Gathering! Everyone who attends or helps run the program will be
very grateful!
Minnetonka Care Luncheon—You're Invited!
