SEVEN-DAY NHS CARE Jeremy Hunt reinforces his pledge to increase the primary and community care workforce as plans for a 7-day NHS care continue. In his recent speech on the New Deal for General Practice, Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Health, reinforced his pledge to increase the primary and community care workforce by at least 10,000. This includes an estimated 5,000 more doctors working in general practice, as well as more practice nurses, district nurses, physicians associates and pharmacists. Mr Hunt added the exact numbers will be informed by the Primary Care Workforce Commission review (chaired by Professor Martin Rowland), that has been commissioned by Health Education England.
