Blé (blue in English) like the blue of the sea and
of Thessaloniki… or blé like wheat in French.This
new age bakery, which was the first to break the
mould of a traditional bakery, numbers as many
as 4 years of successful presence in Thessaloniki.
Its venue, which has been awarded for its architecture (signed by celebrated minimalist Claudio
Silvestrin), with the highest wood-fired oven in the
world and an area of over 1.000 sq.m. of volcanic
red stone, offers everyday delights. We kick off our
mornings with aromas coming from the several
hot traditional additive-free bread types made with
cereals and herb-based leaven, yogurt... baked in
stone or wood-fired stoves, as well as with exceptional coffee brands, roasted in house. Following
a break with delicacies, including traditional
pies, sandwiches, focaccia, even Cretan delicacies
(“lychnarakia” is a must taste), what takes over is
a self service food department based on a seasonal
Mediterranean menu signed by Italian executive chef Mino Allegrini and his team.The massive
window display reveals the fresh delectable picks,
ranging from familiar flavors to imaginative combos, all made with top quality ingredients. From
mama’s dishes, including soutzoukakia (spicy
meatballs) and cabbage rolls, to elaborate dishes,
like lamb with honey and tangerine, and pork
meat with chestnuts and chocolate sauce,… whatever it is that you go for, either within the establishment or take it away, it will definitely tickle your
palate! Excellent trimmings and a salad bar with
lavish and delicious salads round up the experience! What about the sweet lovers, you may ask?
They huddle around the window display featuring
creations of the French, Italian and Belgian school
and everything that includes chocolate, because of
the precious chocolate Blé uses! The 100% naturally made ice cream, the Belgian chocolate bars
and the fresh fruit in about 25 flavors also stand
