The rule says that when the locals prefer a restaurant, it can
be nothing but successful. This is the case for Glikanisos.
Even though it is not in the centre of Thessaloniki, it has
managed to become a culinary destination on its own. It
serves sophisticated Greek creative cuisine with sea food flavours with Mediterranean “touches”. The idea and its materialization belong to the owners, the brothers Christos and
Stavros Sotiroudis, who after having worked for long in the
city’s most famous restaurants and acquired a know-how,
they have been welcoming us to their own restaurant for the

exceptional choices, from fresh fish of the day (straight from
fishing boats which cooperate with them) up to elaborated
tasty suggestions, such as sea bass carpaccio, tuna “tigania”, the amazing “kritharoto” with cray fish tails, the dentex
tartar up to the absolutely Greek “trachanoto” with shrimps,
feta cheese and saffron, the wonderful fish soup and risotto,
flavours that will take your mind! If we also bear in mind
the exceptional, updated wine list –almost 65 labels–, of
Greek vineyards exclusively, in prices that –in comparison–
are very impressive, we realize why after all Glikanisos is the
