Mykonos may be the dream place for
the worldwide lovers of extreme and
luxurious vacation… but few know the
myth related to this high end destina-
tion… The story goes like this… it was
the three sons of the mythical kind of
Dilos, Anios, who founded Mykonos,
Andros and Thasos, and his three
daughters who represented fruitage
(Spermo, Oeno and Elais). When the
Achaeans kidnaped them, Dionisos
transformed them into doves, thus
helping them to escape. Since then,
killing doves was prohibited in the
island. Back to reality… the former
Mykonos Palace complex inaugurated
this year’s season as Mykonos Dove
Beachfront Hotel with a total fresh
new look. Its design is inspired from
the Mykonian dovecots and named
after the three forgotten protectors of
the island, making it look light a white
dove on the Platis Gialos beach. In
addition, there has been an ultra-chic
upgrade of its spaces, which stand out
for their minimal aesthetic suites (47-
132 sq.m.), 8 of which boast high end
