By the sea, Minoa Palace Resort ensures a high end stay for its visitors, while at the same time sets its own gastronomic stamp with 4 restaurants( Elia, Ta nisia, Galazio and Thalassa), whose menus are signed and curated by the acknowledged chef Giannis Tsavourakis and his team.
THALASSA
In « Thalassa » restaurant you will enjoy delicious Mediterranean tastes with bold Cretan“ notes” since early morning, as its certified Greek breakfast buffet offers local treats and original recipes. Cheese from the entire Greece and from Crete, cured meat such as singlino and smoked pancetta, pies and sweets, even beverages with Cretan herbs, are some of the things you will find in the buffet, whose choices are completed by popular continental suggestions like croissants, egg dishes, pancakes and smoothies! At noon we return for lunch, a la cart or at the buffet, where much emphasis is given to Cretan cuisine viands( and biological products), such as greens, legumes, cereal, vegetables of the season and hotpot.“ Thalassa” also serves dinner with a card of 22 oriental food style choices, i. e. recipes from lands of the Mediterranean and the East. Cyprian ham, kebab, grilled chicken with oriental spices and yogurt, haloumi and spearmint pie are only some of the choices!( Breakfast, 07:30- 10:30 / Lunch buffet 12:30- 14:30 & a la carte 12:30- 16:00 / Dinner a la cart( except from Wednesday) 19:30- 22:30).
HIGHLIGHTS
• The hotel’ s organic biological garden, certified by Inspection Institute for Organic Products BIOHELLAS, is being cultivated with horticultural products and herbs, which supply the a la carte restaurants « Galazio » and « Thalassa ». Customers can visit the place with a guide once a week.
• Beyond the restaurants, there is the experience of an afternoon in the“ Traditional Kafeneio” of the hotel, inside the verdant gardens, amidst grapevines and trees, where you will enjoy delicious local deserts and pies and be contacted with the energy of Cretan countryside!( Open every day except from Wednesday, 15:00- 20:00). In the same place, the chef offers every week cooking lessons, presenting traditional Cretan recipes to the visitors.
GALAZIO
The taste … challenges continue in « Galazio » restaurant, in a majestic scenery by the sea, awarded with“ BIO Kouzina” certification in the Silver category. The biological a la carte dinner menu honors the pure Cretan nutritional model, serving Greek creative cuisine dishes. Extra virgin olive oil, fresh vegetables from the hotel’ s biological garden, handpicked greeneries and herbs, chosen meat from local farms, handmade bread and other gastronomic treasures, creatively combined with POP Greek products like avgotaraho( roe) from Messologi and prosciutto from Evritania, end up in an excellent menu. Here there are also held every Thursday wine tasting events, each time with a presentation of 5 Greek labels and the respective dishes. Tuesday- Sunday 19:00- 23:00. Since last year Galazio also serves a la carte mostly Greek breakfast for a limited number of guests. The menu includes some standards flavors for the beginning and a card of 12 choices from salty and sweet dishes.
