ΜΕΓΑΛΟ ΑΡΣΕΝΑΛΙ
«Απομονωμένο» στα δυτικά σε σχέση με τα άλλα, το
πιο επιβλητικό από τα Νεώρια του Παλιού Λιμανιού
χτίστηκε γύρω στα 1600 και «φιλοξενούσε» κάποτε
τη ναυαρχίδα του ενετικού στόλου. Τα τελευταία 150
χρόνια άλλαξε πολλές φορές «πρόσωπο», αφού
λειτούργησε, μεταξύ άλλων, ως σχολείο, δημοτικό
νοσοκομείο αλλά και δημαρχείο! Σήμερα στο Μεγά-
λο Αρσενάλι στεγάζεται το Κέντρο Αρχιτεκτονικής
Μεσογείου, στο οποίο διοργανώνονται πολιτιστικές
εκδηλώσεις που αφορούν την αρχιτεκτονική, τη ζω-
γραφική, τη μουσική και όχι μόνο!

MEGALO ARSENALI (GRAND ARSENAL)
“Isolated” to the west in relation to the others, the
most imposing of the Old Port’s Neoria was built
around 1600 and once “hosted” the flagship of
the Venetian fleet. Over the last 150 years, it has
changed its “face” many times, since it has turned,
among others, into a school, a municipal hospital
and a town hall! Today, in Megalo Arsenali, the
Center of Mediterranean Architecture is housed,
where cultural events are organized, such as archi-
tecture, painting, music and more!
