Ο Άγιος είναι αυτό που λέμε « κλασικό » μπαρ με φιλοσοφία , άποψη και σαφή προσανατολισμό . Δεν είναι άλλωστε τυχαίο ότι αποδεδειγμένα είναι ένα διαχρονικό στέκι ( από το 1989 !) με επαναλαμβανόμενο κόσμο που το έχει καθιερώσει στα places to be . Μας εντυπωσίασε πολύ η « δυνατή » του κάβα , από εκείνες που περιμένεις να βρεις σε ψαγμένα στέκια της Αθήνας . Αυτό οι θαμώνες το ξέρουν ... Εμείς το μάθαμε στην πρόσφατη επίσκεψή μας εκεί . Εξαιρετικός , παρεΐστικος χώρος με τραπεζάκια έξω και cozy γωνιές μέσα και πάνω απ ’ όλα φιλική διάθεση , αυθεντική διασκέδαση , « σωστά » ποτά . Και ενώ η πρωινή του πλευρά μας αρέσει πολύ -ειδικά το inhouse espresso από το ομώνυμο speciality blend- , το βράδυ η διάθεση απογειώνεται ! Και πώς αλλιώς ; Αφού εκτός της άκρως ενημερωμένης κάβας , η οποία μάλιστα υποστηρίζει και προωθεί τις καλές ελληνικές ετικέτες , η seasonable « παιχνιδιάρικη » signature cocktail list με 35 μοναδικά cocktails , σε κατηγορίες σύμφωνα με το ποτό που έχουν ως βάση , εντυπωσιάζει ! Σιρόπια , μαρμελάδες , πουρέδες , όλες οι πρώτες ύλες είναι handmade , όπως είναι « σπιτικές » και οι εμπνευσμένες συνταγές που καταλήγουν σε δημιουργικούς συνδυασμούς . Μάλιστα , στη λίστα υπάρχει κατηγορία « Τasting Greece », που προτείνει επιλογές σε εξαιρετικά cocktails με βάση ελληνικά αποστάγματα ... όπως το Rakito ( η εκδοχή του Mojito με ρακή ). Στα must try επίσης το Feliz Mes ( με τζιν , σπιτική μαρμελάδα ντομάτας , λικέρ λίτσι , λεμόνι και βασιλικό ) το Twisted Spicy Mango ( τζιν , πουρές μάνγκο , σιρόπι πιπερόριζας , λεμόνι και αφρό μάνγκο ) και το Leg Opener ( με τσικουδιά , θυμαρίσιο μέλι , λεμόνι , λικέρ λίτσι και αφρό από φρούτα του δάσους και μάνγκο ). Και όλο αυτό ολοκληρώνεται φυσικά με τη μουσική ... αφού καθημερινά ο DJ δίνει το σύνθημα για διασκέδαση & χορό με μουσικές του κόσμου , ανάλογα τη στιγμή , τη διάθεση και την παρέα !
Agios is what we call a classic bar with a clear philosophy , concept and orientation . It has proven to be a timeless hangout ( since 1989 ) with returning guests making it the place to be . We were rather impressed by its strong cellar equivalent to Athenian bars . The frequenters know this , we found it out in our recent visit to Chania . Excellent , friendly space with outdoor tables and cozy corners indoors , most of all with friendly attitude , authentic entertainment , clean drinks . Great morning atmosphere with inhouse espresso by the homonymous speciality blend , but in the evening the mood skyrockets . It couldn ’ t be any different as next to to an updated cellar , which supports and promotes the good Greek labels , we were very impressed by the seasonable playful signature cocktail list with 35 outstanding cocktails , divided
in categories according to their main alcoholic drink . Syrups , jams , purees and all ingredients are handmade , like the homemade and inspired recipes which conclude to creative combinations . Moreover , the list includes the “ Tasting Greece ” category , which suggests options of exceptional cocktails made of Greek spirits ... such as Rakito ( version of Mojito with raki ). Feliz Mex ( gin , homemade tomato jam , lychee liqueur , lemon and basil ), the Twisted Spicy Mango ( gin , mango puree , ginger syrup , lemon and mango foam ) and the Leg Opener ( tsikoudia , thymus honey , lemon , lychee liqueur and foam of forest fruits and mango ) are amongst the must-taste . All complemented by the music choices of the DJ who skyrockets the entertainment & dancing with world music , depending on the time , the mood and the company !
