Who said that Arachova is a destination olny for the winter? Six
young people with a remarkable presence in Arachova’s hotel
business map and a vision for their land, have a lot to put
forward to meet your travel... quests 365 day a year!
Ευχαριστούμε πολύ τον Γιάννη ‘Αρκουδόγιαννο’ για την παραχώρηση του σχοινιού της διελκυστίνδας
Μany thanks to John “Arkoudogiannos” for the courtesy of the tug of war rope
What Arachova and the neighboring area have in store for you all year round, apart from skiing and winter activities:
Live the ski & surf experience, given the
short distance from the sea and the amazing
beaches of Antikyra in particular (in just 30΄
you can go from the snowcapped regions to the
beach)!
Get a close view of the Parnassos National
Park, whose fauna and flora includes rare species of animals, plants as well as mushrooms!
The suggestion to have a Natural History Museum founded will promote the area’s enormous
ecological value.
Walk down the area’s amazing paths, either
close to or far away from the village. The clean-
ing and marking of new paths are on the making, while they are to be linked to shelters.
Ride your bike, either in mountainous routes
or smoother ones. Cycling is an activity with
great future prospects, as cycling races and the
opening of new routes should come into being in
the foreseeable future.
Go horse-riding! There are breathtaking
landscapes that you can get acquainted with on
horseback!
Discover the area’s archaeological and religious monuments, with the Delphi Oracle and
the Byzantine monastery of Osios Loukas being
the must-sees!
A great prospect for the area would be
the all-year-round operation of the ski centre
with activities, including cycling, para-gliding,
horse-riding, paintball, archery, etc., something
which is a common place in the rest of Europe.
Furthermore, one of the future plans should
be a single alternative tourism package (e.g.
strolls in nature with a view to acquainting the
visitors with the area’s fauna and flora, visits
to plants producing local products, accommodation etc.) in collaboration with the corresponding businessmen.
