They say Delphi is an energy charged place! And this is not
only because history has spread its veil artfully over the “Navel
of the World” but also because of the energy oozed by the
modern town, which for many is a well hidden secret even
today! Follow us in a unique “two-speed” journey that will
surprise you pleasantly!
Delphi is built on an imposing scenery
over Korinthiakos gulf, on the sacred
mountain of Parnassos, and it is considered the centre of the world – and not
unjustly. Most of us have experienced
the awe and thrill that is inevitably
caused during the visit at the archaeological sites and the knowledge of
the place’s history. What we probably
don’t know is how harmonically the
past is tied with the “vivid” present
and everything that the modern city
of Delphi has to offer. Apart from the
beauty of the land and its residents, the
visitor also enjoys the exceptional and
value for money choices offered both in
accommodation as well as food and entertainment. The city's nomination for
European Capital of Culture 2021, is the
ideal opportunity to get to know Delphi
a little better!

Life is “happening” on the central road,
i.e. Vassileon Pavlou and Friderikis
street, with a plethora of traditional
guest houses, tasteful cafés and exceptional choices for homemade food,
behind of which are young people with
enthusiasm and vision. From the upper
side of Apollonos, which starts from the
characteristic plane in the entrance of
the city, we are introduced to another
side of Delphi. High up is the imposing
church of Aghios Nikolaos and here is
also Sikelianos’ house built on a hill,
overlooking the horizon! The amazing
view of the Delphi landscape and the
Itea bay, the picturesque alleys with the
stone paved stairs, the natural environment and the beautiful images all
seasons of the year, make Delphi a charismatic city that is definitely worth an
entry in our agenda for future escapes!
