« ΑΚΟΥΕΊ » ΤΊΣ ΑΝΑΓΚΕΣ ΤΗΣ ΚΟΊΝΩΝΊΑΣ
Το μουσείο , τα τελευταία χρόνια , πραγματοποιεί ένα ευρύτερο άνοιγμα στην κοινωνία , φιλοδοξώντας να καταστεί ένα ζωντανό κύτταρο . Όντας μέλος των ICOM ( International Council of Museums- Ελληνικό Τμήμα ), CECA ( International Committee for Education and Cultural Action ) και CIMUSET ( International Committee for Museums and Collections of Science and Technology ), συνεργάζεται με σημαντικούς επιστημονικούς & πολιτιστικούς φορείς , με την ακαδημαϊκή κοινότητα αλλά και με φορείς εκτός Ελλάδας , μέσω της συμμετοχής του σε ερευνητικά προγράμματα . Μέσα από τις δράσεις , συνεργασίες , τα εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα , τις περιοδεύουσες εκθέσεις και εκδηλώσεις του , δείχνει ότι είναι « ανοιχτό » στην κοινωνία , διατηρώντας μια δυναμική και αλληλεπιδραστική σχέση με αυτήν . Έχει μάθει να « ακούει » τον επισκέπτη και τις ανάγκες του και να του προσφέρει τη γνώση αβίαστα , με συζήτηση και όχι κατήχηση , με ένα πλήρως εξειδικευμένο και ευγενικό προσωπικό του . Πόσοι όμως επισκέπτονται το μουσείο κάθε χρόνο ; Η απάντηση ήρθε από τα χείλη του κ . Εμμανουήλ Τσουπάκη , υπεύθυνου της ξενάγησης .
« 15.000 επισκέπτες έρχονται κατά μέσο όρο κάθε χρόνο στο μουσείο μας , γονείς με παιδιά ή και σχολικές ομάδες . Είναι καταπληκτικό αυτό που συμβαίνει , όλα τα παιδιά φεύγουν ενθουσιασμένα ». Οι συλλογές του συνεχώς εμπλουτίζονται και οι εκπαιδευτικές του δράσεις ανανεώνονται κάθε μήνα , οπότε όσες φορές και να το επισκεφτείτε , κάθε φορά θα ανακαλύψετε νέα πράγματα , νέες πτυχές της ιστορίας των τηλεπικοινωνιών στη χώρα μας .
“ It listens ” to what society needs
Over the past few years , the Museum is opening up to an ever broader part of the society , with the ambition to inherit the form of a “ living cell ”. Being a member of ICOM ( International Council of Museums- Greek section ), CECA ( International Committee for Education and Cultural Action ) and CIMUSET ( International Committee for Museums and Collections of Science and Technology ), the Museum cooperates with significant scientific and cultural organisations , with the academic community , as well as institutions abroad , through its participation in research programmes . Its actions , partnerships , educational programmes , travelling exhibitions and events help the Museum maintain an “ open ” and inviting face towards the society , and build a dynamic and interactive relationship with it . The OTE Group Telecommunications Museum and its fully specialized personnel are able to “ listen ” to visitors and their needs and offer knowledge in a simple manner , choosing discussion over catechism . But what is the annual report of visitors for the Museum ? The answer comes from Mr . Emmanouil Tsoupakis , the Museum docent : “ The Museum has an annual average of 15,000 visitors , including families and school groups . Kids are always leaving the Museum excited , and this is something remarkable to watch .” The Museum collections are constantly enriched and its educational activities are updated on a monthly basis ; no matter how many times you decide to visit , you will always get the chance to discover exciting things and new aspects of the Greek telecommunication history .
