Από τις παλαιότερες συνοικίες της Αθήνας, τα « παρεξηγημένα » Εξάρχεια είναι μια γειτονιά-αποκάλυψη. Κατεξοχήν « επαναστατική », γεμάτη τυπογραφεία και εναλλακτικούς πολυχώρους τέχνης, πολύχρωμη, θορυβώδης, μποέμ, είναι μια από τις πιο cult περιοχές της Αθήνας – με την έννοια της κουλτούρας και όχι του γραφικού. Ανάμεσα στα στενά με τα εγκαταλελειμμένα αλλά και καλοδιατηρημένα νεοκλασικά και στους πεζόδρομους ανακαλύπτουμε « ψαγμένα » μπαράκια, ρακάδικα, underground μουσικές σκηνές, ιστορικά κουτούκια, αλλά και βιβλιοπωλεία και μαγαζάκια με συλλεκτικές εκδόσεις και παλιά βιβλία. Και ναι... τα τελευταία χρόνια γνωρίζει σκαμπανεβάσματα, οι κάτοικοι διαμαρτύρονται για την αναρχική πλευρά τους, αλλά το « ατίθασο παιδί » είναι πάντα εκεί έτοιμο να αποτινάξει τη ρετσινιά της... υπαίθριας γιάφκας, αναδεικνύοντας τη χαλαρή διάθεση και τα intellectual στέκια υποστηρίζοντας ότι θα είναι πάντα μια γειτονιά που δεν « χωράει » σε νόρμες.
One of the oldest neighborhoods of Athens, the“ misunderstood” Exarchia is a neighborhood-revelation.“ Revolutionary”, full of print stores and alternative multipurpose art venues, colorful, bustling, bohemian, is one of the most cult areas of Athens – in the sense of culture rather than the graphic. Among the narrow streets with the abandoned and as well as the well-preserved neoclassical houses and the pedestrian streets, we discover sophisticated bars, raki-serving places, underground music scenes, historic traditional small tavernas, as well as bookshops and small stores with old books and collector’ s items. And yes... in the last few years the neighborhood has known ups and downs, the residents are complaining about its“ dark” and anarchist side, but the city’ s“ rebellious child” is always there ready to shed its stigma of being … an outdoor anarchist hangout, bringing out its relaxed mood, the intellectual hangouts, arguing that it will always be a neighborhood that does not“ fit” into norms.
