Named after the female character
of Goethe’s play “The sorrows
of Young Werther”, a nostalgic
expression of the romance move-
ment, Lotte reminds of a Parisian
bistro of Marais. In a location
hidden behind the thick foliage of
a small park in an urban district
with a feeling of an old Athenian
neighborhood, actress Theodora
Athanassopoulou has created a
doll café-bistro, which impresses
with its pistachio color and floral
little curtains. Although tiny, its
bright glass windows let you inter-
act with the patrons who choose

you on a journey through the early
years of the previous century in an
unpretentious way. A shady oasis
from early in the morning for good
coffee (Mr Rose), tea and herbs (in
large variety), fresh beverages or
later in the afternoon with amazing
pies and homemade sweets by
Mrs. Mary. At the evening spe-
cial drinks, excellent wines and
cocktails accompany us. All these
under the sounds of jazz and blues
tunes from the ’20s to the ’50s.

Το όνομα του είναι εμπνευσμένο από την ηρωίδα στο θεατρικό έρ-
γο του Γκαίτε «Τα πάθη του νεαρού Βέρθερου», σε μια νοσταλγική
έκφραση του ρομαντισμού της εποχής. Όσο για το ίδιο θυμίζει πα-
ριζιάνικο bistro του Μarais. Πίσω από την παχιά φυλλωσιά ενός μι-
κρού πάρκου μιας αστικής συνοικίας με αίσθηση παλιάς αθηναϊκής
γειτονιάς, η ηθοποιός Θεοδώρα Αθανασοπούλου δημιούργησε ένα
κουκλίστικο café-bistro, που προσελκύει το βλέμμα με το φιστικί του
χρώμα και τα λουλουδάτα κουρτινάκια. Αν και μικροσκοπικό, τα φω-
τεινά του παράθυρα σε αφήνουν να... «συνομιλείς» με τους θαμώνες
που επιλέγουν τα τραπεζάκια έξω. Vintage αντικείμενα και έπιπλα-
αντίκες σε ταξιδεύουν νοερά στις αρχές του προηγούμενου αιώνα,
με έναν όμως ανεπιτήδευτο τρόπο που δεν «προσπαθεί» να πείσει.
Μια δροσερή όαση από το πρωί για καλό καφέ (Mr Rose), τσάι και
βότανα (σε μεγάλη ποικιλία), φρέσκα αναψυκτικά, ενώ το μεσημέρι
ανάρπαστες γίνονται οι πίτες και τα γλυκά της κ. Μαίρης. Το βράδυ
ιδιαίτερα ποτά, εκλεκτά κρασιά και cocktails μάς κρατούν συντροφιά.
Κι όλα αυτά υπό τους ήχους jazz και blues ακουσμάτων από το ’20
μέχρι το ’50. Καθημερινά 10:00-02:00.
