Dr. Robert Marvin is a board certified surgeon who specializes in minimally-invasive surgery for the cure of morbid obesity. He has additional certification in
surgical critical care and has been recognized by the American Society of Bariatric
Surgeons (ASBS) as a surgeon practicing at a Center of Excellence in Obesity Surgery. He currently practices at Houston Surgical Specialists which is a multi-physician practice, headed by an experienced surgeon with a track record of consistently
excellent results. They strive to provide a global approach to the complex problem
of morbid obesity with a wide range of treatment plans, from medically supervised
diets, nutrition and vitamin plans, to all of the proven effective surgical procedures.
Their goals are to identify patients who will benefit from bariatric surgery, provide
consistent error free application of surgical technique, and effective postoperative
care with subsequent clinical outcomes that far exceed recognized standards.
Since the inception of his obesity surgery practice in 2002 he has performed
surgery for more than 1,000 patients suffering from morbid obesity with excellent
outcomes and low complication rates. Because of the quality of this care he was
recognized as a surgeon practicing at a Center of Excellence by the ASBS in 2006.
He is the Medical Director for Obesity Surgery for both Obesity Surgery Specialists
and Houston Surgical Specialists in Houston. He is currently the primary surgeon
for the Houston Obesity and Metabolic Disease Clinic.

Dr. Paul Metz is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Metz’s experience is in full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on dental implants, orthognathic surgery, and
grafting procedures. He is uniquely trained and qualified to offer our patients
the ability to have their surgical care performed with a variety of anesthesia
options right in our office.
As an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMS), Dr. Metz is a specialist who
treats many diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the
hard and soft tissues of the oral (mouth) and maxillofacial (jaws and face)
