An entrepreneur is; a person who organizes and manages a business undertaking, assuming the risk for the sake of the profit. Someone who perceives an opportunity and creates an organization to pursue it or simply someone who is looking to build a company. It is important to understand that an entrepreneur is not necessarily someone that is self-employed (works for themselves). As more and more people become self- employed we need to understand what makes people entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. Victor Kiam Fostering the mindset in your kids n The Entrepreneurial Idea - The idea is key to becoming an entrepreneur An entrepreneurial idea; a specific, new way to satisfy a need or want, overcome a problem, or meet a challenge. Every entrepreneur has an idea, a big idea, to do something different, better or something that other people aren’t doing. A key to a successful entrepreneur is to take the idea and make it work, bring it to market by creating some excitement. The idea is the starting point to becoming an entrepre- neur. You may dream of doing great entrepreneurial things but it is the idea that will get you started on the path to entrepreneurship. n What Does It Take To Be An Entrepreneur There are key personal characteristics that make people succeed as entrepreneurs.
