current residence is in Norfolk , Virginia . In August 2021 , Caroline began searching for properties in anticipation of the youngest of their three children graduating high school this spring . Her focus was on finding a home in the Berkshires , ideally a historic fixer-upper , that was located somewhere between New York City and Jack ’ s hometown of Belmont , Massachusetts . Simply put , they wanted to be in New England . When Caroline found Aston Magna through an internet search , she wasted no time contacting the listing agent , Martha Piper , and arranged to tour the estate . Caroline immediately fell in love with the property and its potential , although when she called back to arrange a second viewing with her husband , she was

told that the listing had been taken off the market . Devastated , Caroline kept looking .

In November 2022 , the Baughmans settled on a house on Hurlburt Road , just on the other side of McAllister Park from Aston Magna . Caroline said it was an ordinary house , but it had potential and spectacular views . She then received another call from Piper , who said that Aston Magna was for sale again . The Baughmans were ecstatic ; by January , they had sold the Hurlburt Road home and went into contract for Aston Magna . They purchased the estate on August 11 , 2023 , for $ 5.1 million — two years after Caroline first saw it .
