Q-MoB also hosts easy hikes , potlucks , coffee klatches , and arts / culture activities that attract queer seniors in an intergenerational context , and provides ride-sharing for anyone who needs a ride to its activities .
Jason Vivori is Senior Curator at the Berkshire Museum and Chair of the Board of Berkshire Stonewall Community Coalition ( also home of the Berkshire Queer History Project ). Berkshire Stonewall is the oldest queer organization in the Berkshires , and Vivori has been a leader in the Berkshire queer community for more than 25 years . He has watched the community go through many astonishing spurts of growth , gut-wrenching contractions and in-fighting , and now he is acutely aware of how the proliferation of social media that we all learned during Covid has created not only lots of isolation , but also has hollowed out the leadership , volunteers , and in-person activities of many of our queer organizations . He thinks it is vital we create spaces like potlucks , dances , and conferences where all the diverse people in the LGBTQIA + community can gather to get to know one another and learn about one another and the history of their community and all the ways they could connect , have fun , and help one another . He believes it is vital that we come together to get to know one another in regular gatherings that welcome all the parts of the rainbow . ■

One ' s Moral Compass
“ Each According to the Dictates of His Own Conscience ” is written large on Norman Rockwell ’ s painting , Freedom of Worship , which was inspired by Franklin D . Roosevelt ’ s 1941 State of the Union address , in which he outlined four essential human rights :
Freedom of Speech . Freedom from Want . Freedom of Worship . Freedom from Fear .
One ’ s own conscience informs our moral judgments . And those judgments largely color our world view — they guide us in our ethical decisions and our actions . What do these nine words :“ Each According to the Dictates of His Own Conscience ” mean to you , and how does your moral compass inform your actions ?
