Imagine a City
Mark Vanhoenacker grew up in Pittsfield , and his Lenox home appeared in the pages of Berkshire Magazine several years back . A commercial pilot , Vanhoenacker is a regular contributor to the New York Times and the Financial
Times , and the author of the bestseller Skyfaring . His new book , Imagine a City , will be released July 5 . A reading and book signing is planned for 6 p . m . on July 7 at Dottie ’ s in Pittsfield . The book begins as a memoir about growing up in a small place — Pittsfield — and weaves in other cities where Vanhoenacker has lived and traveled . It is a love letter to the metropolises of the world , from the perspective of a pilot who comes to know them first from above and then on the ground . markvanhoenacker . com
