WHENEVER POSSIBLE , I visit as many of the locations and individuals that we write about in the magazine . That was definitely the case with this issue , and the content , as you will see , is varied and colorful and reflective of our beautiful Berkshires !
We have photographed Wheatleigh in the past for a fashion feature , but I am thrilled that Tara Consolati now explores the gorgeous location in “ Ushering in a New Era ” ( page 14 ). Equally stunning is Searles Castle and the colorful artist Hunt Slonem , whom I enjoyed getting to know ( page 20 ). I ’ ve eaten at Carm ’ s in Chester ( page 38 ) and look forward to a First Day Hike in the hilltowns ( page 78 ). Great Barrington is my go-to place for shopping and dining ( page 68 ), and I had the pleasure of listening to live jazz with Ted Rosenthal and company at Gateways Inn in Lenox ( page 82 ). I can go on and on . With the holiday season upon us , there are so many things to do in the Berkshires , as you will read in these pages . Happy 2022 !
