Kick off the holiday season with a night of creativity, connection and seasonal beauty. In this hands-on Thanksgiving Centerpiece Workshop on Friday, November 21, from 6 to 8 p. m., Hilary Collingwood of Moonflower Farm in Sheffield will guide participants step-by-step in designing a stunning Thanksgiving centerpiece. A three-hour program held on Saturday, November 22, from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m., and Sunday, November 23, from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m., will lead participants in crafting holiday wreaths from fresh and dried botanicals. Crafting a Holiday Wreath from Fresh and Dried Botanicals will combine classroom introduction with guided hands-on practice using 14-inch balsam wreath forms, after which participants will take home your own decorated holiday wreath. Chris Ferrero will lead this class, starting with a slide program introducing principles, techniques and creative ideas. Then participants will be assigned workstations in the same studio used by BBG’ s
wreath designers, several of whom will be on hand to help you select materials and practice optimal construction skills. Experience with a hot glue gun is recommended.

Chesterwood, the summer home, studio and gardens of American Renaissance sculptor Daniel Chester French, is keeping its doors open to the public through October 31, after a multi-faceted, four-year renovation and rehabilitation project to preserve the French family residence. Chesterwood offers three new exhibition rooms that celebrate French’ s art, alongside spotlighting the works of two female artists active at Chesterwood: French’ s protégée Evelyn Beatrice Longman( 1874- 1954) and his daughter, Margaret French Cresson( 1889-1973). Chesterwood’ s annual outdoor sculpture exhibition, Global Warming / Global
Warning!, is curated by architect and
preservationist Michael F. Lynch, with works by artists Kathleen Jacobs, Ann Jon, Harold Grinspoon, Natalie Tyler, and DeWitt Godfrey. Chesterwood will also feature a retrospective exhibition of celebrated Berkshires sculptor Ann Jon through September 30.( Jon also has two large outdoor sculptures on exhibit at TurnPark Art Space in West Stockbridge.)
Also at Chesterwood, the exhibition Modeling Women brings together over 25 sculptures and paintings, many never before exhibited, to explore themes of collaboration and mentorship. The exhibition highlights women who modeled for some of Daniel Chester French’ s most celebrated monuments. And there you have it! The fall season in the Berkshires looks more like an extension of summertime, with the added feature of the fall colors on full display everywhere you go.
