Lise Davidsen is currently at the top of the list of great talents on the international opera scene. In 2015 she was a prizewinner in three major competitions: Plácido Domingo’s Operalia 058 in London, the Belvedere-competition in Amsterdam and the Queen Sonja International Music Competition. According to the jury of the Queen Sonja Competition, ‘her warm and velvety coloratura, combined with technical proficiency and refined artistic expression, makes her unique in the new generation of singers.’ At this concert she sings works by Sibelius, Grieg, Mahler and Strauss, providing the perfect challenge for a soprano with such a rich palette of colours to choose from, varying from the most delicate nuances to the greatest of emotional outbursts. At the piano is the Austrian pianist Helmut Deutsch, the accompanist of preference for many world-renowned singers, including Jonas Kaufmann, Matthias Goerne, Bo Skovhus and Diana Damrau. #FE STSPILLEN E16 Prize-winning young singer Bror Magnus Tødenes performs Grieg and Schumann with pianist Håvard Gimse. This 22-year old tenor from Eiksund south of Ålesund in Norway has despite his comparative youth developed an extensive, varied operatic and lieder repertoire. In September 2015 he took first prize in the opera section of the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition. He also received the Audience Prize, which includes a one-year contract with the Vienna State Opera. ‘Bror Magnus Tødenes’s performance has a strength, a presence, a stage backbone and a voice that are quite exceptional,’ was the response of the critic in Stavanger Aftenblad to his role as Uria in Stå H
