have been court ordered to reside jointly with both parents, the contestant can only compete in one of the two counties in which the contestant’ s parents reside.
7. If there is a tie for winner in any category, the County Youth Talent Director will determine which winner will be eligible to compete at the State Fair.
8. If the winner of a category chooses not to compete in the Arkansas State Fair, and notifies Director before entry forms are submitted, the runner-up may compete in their stead.
9. All acts must be performed on the stage. Please keep the stage dimensions in mind when preparing your talent presentation.
10. Scores are based on a total of 50 points. Stage Presence / Professionalism( 10 %), Technical Ability( 10 %), Appearance / Wardrobe( 10 %), and Entertainment Value( 20 %). The judges will be appointed by the County Youth Talent Director. They will be people well qualified to judge a contest of this kind. Their decision will be final. Judges scores are confidential. 11. There is no fee for competing in the Youth Talent Contest. 12. Any display of poor sportsmanship and / or unbecoming conduct, any interference and / or disturbance, or any other behavioral problem created by a contestant, parent, relative, or even a supporter of a contestant could result in disqualification of the contestant not only from this year’ s contest but also from future participation.
13. Any inappropriate lyrics or moves in the performance will result in immediate disqualification. The contest director has the right to interrupt a performance if it is deemed inappropriate for the Youth Talent Competition.
14. No decorative or background props of any kind will be allowed. A prop must be used as a functional part of the contestant’ s act. Questionable props must be discussed and approved by the Director before arrival.
15. The director and / or county fair management reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and arbitrarily settle and determine all matters, questions and differences in regard thereto, or otherwise arising out of or connected with, or incident to the contest, and the right to amend or add to these rules as their judgment may determine. Any contestant who fails to abide by any of the above rules will be disqualified from the contest by the County Contest Director and / or state fair management.
16. All acts must not exceed the 3-minute time limit( including recorded introduction). Accompaniment tracks( if applicable) must meet this time limit requirement. Tracks must be emailed in mp3 or ACC format to mcgraves @ gmail. com
17. Professional sound equipment is provided. No personal players or microphones will be allowed. All contestants must provide their own instruments. No keyboard is provided.
18. A winning act from each category within each division will be announced. A Grand Champion for each age division will be announced.
