** NEW CATEGORY ** Mini-Scarecrow Contest Special Awards Sponsored by Benton County Master Gardeners Grand Champion Adult and Youth will receive $ 25
1. Open to individuals, Adult and Youth( 19 and under). 1 entry per exhibitor.
2. Create a mini scarecrow not less than 6 inches tall and not more than 18 inches tall, dressed and decorated in a farm / harvest theme. You may use dolls( like Barbie) or action figures( like GI Joe) or create your own scarecrow figure using natural materials like sticks, straw or wood.
3. Mini scarecrows will be displayed on a shelf or attached to a wire frame wall, so please do not use unusually heavy materials( example: don’ t use a sledgehammer as your framework)
4. Mini scarecrows will be on display for a week, so please use nothing that will wilt or decay. Dried flowers, nuts and gourds are good, but you may also use entirely manmade materials such as fabric, props and accessories.
5. Mini scarecrows must NOT include any firearms or weapons( not even fakes). They may NOT include depictions of moonshine or alcohol, political statements, or other items not suitable for families of all ages and beliefs.
6. Mini scarecrows will be judged on creativity, originality, visual appeal and attention to detail, similar to the way floral arrangements are judged.
