5. Exhibitors will be expected to keep pens and animals in orderly condition or forfeit premium money. Offending animals may be released by superintendents and sent home.
6. Animals must be owned by, and in the possession of, and cared for by the Jr. Exhibitor who will enter and show the animal. Must be owned by June 7, 2025.
7. Hogs must be classified by the Benton County Fair Swine Superintendent on day of nomination. The Nomination form for State Fair Entry does not constitute an entry form for the Benton County Fair.
8. Jr. Exhibitors will be limited to a total of( 6) hogs. Only( 3) of those can be Market Hogs. Owners must show their own animal unless they have multiple class entries. In such case, another Benton County Junior Member may show one for them. The exhibitor can nominate as many hogs as they wish. Cloverbud Exhibitors are limited to( 3) hogs total and only( 1) can be a Market Hog, the other( 2) can be commercial gilt or purebreds. If a Cloverbud has two in a class, they must have another Cloverbud assist them in showing.
9. All Market Hogs to be shown by weight NOT breed. There will be a Light Weight
Division, Medium Weight Division and a Heavy Weight Division. 10. A Champion Market and Reserve Market hog will be awarded. 11. Following the Market Champion Supreme selection, a Farrowed by Exhibitor in Benton
County Champion will be selected from the market classes. 12. Market Hog / Commercial Gilt weights are 170-290 lbs. There will be no re-weighs between these weights. 13. Market Hog / Commercial Gilt weighing UNDER 170lbs will be sent Home, NO EXCEPTIONS! 14. Clover bud market hog participants must be 5 to 8 years old, and only allowed one( 1) show entry will be made per Clover bud.
15. All swine showing at the fair must have health certificate showing: a) Animals to be negative of brucellosis( 90-day test) or out of certified free herd. b) Animals to be negative for Pseudo rabies on test approved by the State Veterinarian or out of Pseudo rabies free qualified herd( 90-day test). c) Animals to be free of other contagious, infectious, and communicable diseases( erysipelas, atrophic rhinitis, etc.). d) All animals must be free of restricted antibiotics to sell in the livestock sale. e) No fresh ear markings f) All Hogs Must Have Premise Id Tags in ear at Nomination. 16. No Boars allowed at the Benton
County Fair.
17. All animals will be inspected INSIDE the trailer prior to entering the barn area. If any animals on the trailer are contagious the ENTIRE trailer will be sent home immediately!
18. If a Purebred Gilt wins Champion or Reserve Champion overall market hog, then they cannot show in purebred show.
