Frisbees ,” said Ashleigh Quesenberry , head dog trainer . Although they work hard , these skilled performers aren ’ t just show dogs . At Performance Dogs , they are strong advocates for rescue dogs and responsible local breeders . Many of the dogs are either rescued or locally bred before becoming part of the show – by a team that loves them . “ All of these dogs are pets first , performers second ,” Quesenberry pointed out . “ They are raised and trained by us , as well as live with us .” The team uses positive dog training and allow their pets to show them where their strengths lie . “ All of the dogs are different but all start with basic obedience , recall and safety protocols ,” Quesenberry said . “ Then as they age , we start to figure out what part of the show they will shine in the most , and that ’ s what they learn and perfect . “ The dogs train their whole lives , they never stop learning ,” she continued . “ They train from 8 weeks until 12 years , about the age they retire and come to shows just for pets and treats .”

funnel cake . “ Our Crispy Big Pickle is the kid ’ s favorite ,” Mike said . “ We usually have it mostly at the county fair . It is a gigantic crispy dill pickle and served with a cup of nacho cheese to dip it in .”
And you can wash everything down with a Sprite , Coke , Diet Coke , Dr . Pepper , sweet tea or bottled water .
This is Mike and Faye ’ s fourth year since they introduced Nacho Taters .
“ My wife retired from teaching special needs children and opened our first trailer ,” he said . “ We started with a 17-foot trailer and have upgraded to our newest version of the Tater Truck . It is a recently remodeled and customized Frito Lay truck . You can recognize it from the P . O . W . ( Potatos on Wheels ) design on the side .”
For Mike , the food service business has been a family tradition his whole life . “ I grew up and was raised in an old-fashioned small town cafe that my grandmother and mom owned for over 60 years ,” he said . “ My sister and I would work there every day helping out . My favorite pastime today is grilling and smoking foods for my family . We host a family dinner typically every night .”
This is the couple ’ s third year at the Benton County Fair . “ We love the Benton County Fair and the Fair board and staff are very accommodating ,” Mike added . “ They keep the fair family friendly . Of course , we enjoy seeing our followers and meeting new people probably the most . We have gotten to know several folks because of the fair .”
