Behavioral Expectations Rights And Responsibilities
All schools operate by rules so that it is easier for everyone to get along with each other and to work productively. The Benjamin Franklin Middle School is a community of students, teachers, administrators, other staff, and parents / guardians who must share a common definition of what is acceptable behavior. We expect to provide a learning environment where individuals treat each other with respect. The fundamental expectation at Benjamin Franklin Middle School is that each one of us is to be treated fairly by other people. This will occur if each of us takes care in treating others fairly.
We all have responsibilities. At Benjamin Franklin Middle School, your responsibilities relate both to your school and to the people who attend it. By acting responsibly you protect your own rights as well as the rights of others. Consider your rights and responsibilities and the rules that make them possible.
In order to enforce this policy, the Teaneck Board of Education may use metal detecting devices in all school buildings, on school grounds, and at all school activities. As a student you will: Be conscientious and serious about learning. Act in a polite and respectful manner. Make no derogatory racial, religious, or ethnic remarks. Cooperate with staff and fellow students.
