CERTIFIED IRISH ANGUS BEEF SCHOOLS COMPETITION 2016
T

he Irish Angus Producer
Group, ABP Food
Group and Kepak Group are
delighted to announce the
return of their phenomenally
successful Ag Science School
Competition.

This competition offers a prize
to successful Transition Year
students studying Agricultural
Science for their Leaving
Certificate in a fantastic
opportunity to use real live
animals in their Ag Science
project and while doing so,
gain financially from the
production of Irish Angus
calves they receive free of
charge through to beef.
This year’s competition
was bigger and better than
the past two years and has
expanded into an exhibition
of the very best of young
enthusiastic students with a
genuine interest in agriculture,
agri-business and food. The
students participated in an
exhibition event in Croke Park
on 16 March 2016 at which five
finalist schools have been selected
and will receive 5 Irish Angus Cross
calves per group at the National
Ploughing Championships in
September of 2016.
The competition is open to both
rural schools where students would
use a family farm to rear the animals
and urban schools where the
sponsors will provide suitable farms
in close proximity to the schools.
City schools have participated in the
past with great success.
