We employ over 10,000 people across the group, and have developed a global reputation for quality, efficiency and innovation. These values run throughout the company, and have been essential in making sure that we are able to deliver exactly what our customers need.
Our core business – ABP Beef – is supported by our renewables, pet food and proteins divisions, which ensure that the value of our by-products is maximised, and that our environmental impact is minimised.
10 in ABP Clones. I’ m from Newtowncashel in Co Longford. I come from a farming background, my father is a full time farmer and that kind of led me on to where I am today. I started in Ag College in Mount Bellew, then Agricultural College Galway, did 2 years there and I went on and did a Level 8
Business Degree in GIT in Galway... The career prospects in ABP are excellent. It’ s such a broad area, there are so many different areas like Procurement, Quality Assurance, HR all those kind of areas so they are always looking for staff and always looking for graduates to start at the bottom and work their way up.
Kelsey Robson, Quality Assurance graduate at ABP
Ireland. Hi, I’ m Kelsey Robson and I work in Quality Assurance. I grew up in Seattle, I did my Bachelor’ s Degree at Seattle Pacific University and I came to Ireland to do my Masters in UCD in Food Safety and Risk Analysis.
Starting out with ABP Food Group
I started in ABP about a year ago, my mentors as well as the graduates in the group made me feel welcome, we would hang out, they showed me
around and showed me what to do. They didn’ t expect me to know everything and took me step by step till I knew what I was doing. After the first couple of days I felt like I could fit in and I felt like I could keep going.
Being involved with ABP Foods Coming into ABP’ s Graduate Programme you feel very
involved, lots of feedback, lots of communication and it makes you feel like what you are doing is going to be remembered. What you’ re doing does hold a place in the company and is of value.
Hi I am Caoilfhionn Dodd, and I am working with ABP Food Group. I started with ABP on their Production Graduate
Programme, having completed a Bachelor Degree in Animal Science in UCD. I love the support the graduate programme has given me. I would recommenditto anyone who is willing to work hard and wants to be involved in a growing company. Progressing with ABP Foods Since I have been working here I have seen the career ladder that exists in ABP and it is one that just doesn’ t end, it is hugely motivational. People have come in here at the age of 18 straight out of school and they have made it the whole way to the top, it is truly inspiring. On my completion of the Graduate ProgrammerecentlyIwaspromotedtoaGroupSales Analyst Role which is based in our Head Office. That’ s really important when you are starting a position, to be able to see the future and to see your future within a company. If you love the company you want to stay in it, you want to build your career within it and that is why I love working for ABP because I can see a huge future with them.
Colm McCabe My position is Health & Safety Graduate in ABP Clones. I come from Leitrim and have a small farming background there; we have a suckler herd. I studied Health & Safety Systems in Galway … My role in Health & Safety here with ABP is very hands on, I am constantly out on the floor, in the abattoir, the boning hall or cold stores and it’ s extremely important that safety is upheld throughout the
factory … In ABP Foods management have a clear vision of where you could go and they try to nurture your talent or responsibility in your role to try and bring you along, and hopefully into a management position in the future.
