Annnie Dorman: Actress, Model, Teacher

- by Annie Dorman

After winning "Model Of The Year" in 1965 I was in love with the whole proccess. The past 5 decades has blessed me with a "Clairol Nice N Easy" For Brunettes Only campaign, playing Senator Foster's wife in the soap opera "Capitol" on CBS, the ring lady on Gambler 5, mother of the lead in "Duece Coupe", Erika Shepherd opposite Annette Funicello in "Lots of Luck" for Disney and Dance judge in "Girls Just Want To Have Fun." I owned my own Miss Universe Spa Salons/Spa Health Clubs, and operated "Academy International," a school for modeling and acting in Virginia Beach. I had my own local TV show in Virginia Beach called "Key To Beauty" on Channel 3.

I have worked on many musical videos such as Dolly Parton's "Honky Tonk Songs", Ray Boltz "One Drop of Blood," John Anderson "Long Hard Lesson Learned," as well as being spokesperson for a regional campaign for "The Vein Center.

You see as a teenager I struggled with overweight, shyness and confidence. My first teacher was Julie Collmus with "Charm Associates" in Virginia Beach who helped me with proper etiquette and an ability to believe in myself. I attended her classes every Tuesday and Thursday. To fill my week I joined the "European Health Spa" on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This routine changed my life. Within three months I'd lost my weight and learned the ins and outs of modeling, posing and runway.

My desire as your teacher is to pass this information on to you, so you can achieve your goals to have a life full of joy and adventure much like I have been blessed with.
