Dorothy has always made a conscious effort to look her best on stage and in front of the camera but over the years, she had picked up several unwanted pounds. After working out at the gym on her own for some time, she decided it was time to hire a personal trainer. This required her to work out twice daily and follow a very regimented meal plan. Her trainer, pleased with the results, suggested she try her hand at a Bikini Bodybuilding Competition. At 54, Dorothy was more than a little bit intimidated at the thought of going on stage in front of hundreds of people, wearing two small patches of material in 5" high heels. In spite of her inhibitions, she decided to push forward. At 56, Dorothy has won numerous NPC (National Physique Committee) awards, trophies, and swords in contests where she’s competed. She plans to continue competing and receive her pro card before her 60th birthday.
Whether singing, acting, modeling, or bodybuilding, Dorothy says “Her greatest ambition is to become an inspiration and role model for women of all ages.”
Dorothy has married for nine years and resides in Nashville with her husband.
She has two boys age 23 & 36 and three grandchildren.
