MESSAGE FROM ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Having first met Paul Gong at Taiwan in 2017, I was intrigued by his research interest as a speculative designer. He was researching into the biodiversity of human from the perspective of axillary hair, its comparison to a rainforest, the symbiotic relationship to that of a sloth’s fur and the social issues associated with contemporary societies. From that afternoon’s chat, I recognised Paul’s hypothetical approach – of designing innovative hybrid between human and technology – as something that could trigger an exciting work with RAW Moves… After a 2 year wait, I am delighted to present Being, and Organs (Singapore chapter) – a visceral inquiry into transhumanism by Paul Gong. On this Research and Development Platform, audience will experience a different relationship between humans and their bodies. They are invited to discover new psychodynamics as we calibrate various belief systems when moving into our unknown future. Enjoy and discover the transformation of the Being, in relation to the Organ. Ricky Sim Artistic Director RAW Moves
