Some other terms to be familiar with are :
Merit based aid , scholarships and grants : this is free money from the government or the institution that does not need to be repaid . The academic standards at each school will determine how much grant money you receive . Do your homework by visiting each colleges financial aid web site . Just know it varies and sometimes is not clearly defined .
Student loan : this is money you can apply for that needs to begin be repaid 6 months after you graduate from college ( or if you stop going to school ). Know interest begins being applied to your loan amount starting in the first month … this is not always understood .
Work Study – work study can be part of a financial aid package that is where students work on campus and receive a stipend for this work . It can vary in amount and general is around $ 2,500 .
Net price calculators – this is a tool that each school is expected to have on their financial aid web site for parents to put in their financial information to help determine affordability of each school . Know that merit aid or grant for some institutions are not sometimes defined and will not always be included .
Know that at NCAA DIII institutions , you must decide what school you will be attending by May 1 of your senior year . You have time to consider your various options but we all want to know your plans so we can fill our beds with students before we go to the wait list .
The wait list is where schools will put students who do not exactly fit their academic profile through the initial rounds of admittances . Most schools do go to their wait list to complete their first year classes . Sometimes you have to wait this out but can open up doors for you as late May approaches .

Under Coach Hollibaugh, the Grinnell College Pioneers have claimed the Midwest Conference South Division title in 2000, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. The 2010 season saw Grinnell become the first team to go unbeaten in divisional play since Monmouth College in 1969.

Coach Hollibaugh is endorsed through the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) and Program for Athletic Coaches’ Education (PACE).

The Grinnell College baseball team, located in Grinnell, Iowa, plays in the Midwest Conference.
