Joe Jordano recently completed his 21st and final year as head coach of the University of
Pittsburgh. At Pitt, Jordano became the winningest coach in Pitt Baseball history and earned
more wins, in any sport, in Pitt history. Over his 32 years as a collegiate head coach, Jordano
has earned a reputation of being a great teacher, motivator and developer of talent. Well over
70 players have went on to play professional baseball and he has mentored numerous All-
American, All-Region and All-Conference players. Jordano is a proud member of the
Mercyhurst College Hall of Fame. The Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame - Erie Chapter and
the National Italian-American Hall of Fame - Pittsburgh Chapter. In addition, Jordano has
garnered 5 Coach-of-the-Year Awards over his career.
