Following the instructions of leading poskim , a large fruit tree that had been growing for 20 years on campus , at the site of our new building project ( see pages 16-17 ) was carefully and professionally removed and replanted on Long Island . Removal of the tree was a prerequisite for construction to begin .

Putting a Premium on Health
Yeshiva Darchei Torah is known for , among many things , its forward-thinking approach to the education and nurturing of its talmidim . It is no surprise then that Darchei has launched a groundbreaking new initiative — a school-based health center located on the sprawling Melohn Campus . Led by Rabbi Dr . Zeev Brown ( an alumnus of the Yeshiva ), the Premium Health School-Based Center was recently dedicated in memory of Harry and Lee Hirsh , longtime friends and supporters of the Yeshiva . With a team of expert practitioners , the center at Darchei offers a wide array of services helping children with medical and behavioral health concerns . This unique model allows the hanhala , rebbeim , teachers , parents , and clinicians to collaborate closely together . This tight teamwork allows for greater , quicker gains and more smiling , successful students .
