CAMP ORAYSA , established in 2014 , is the summer home of the Yeshiva . All 150-plus of its post-high school Beis Medrash Heichal Dovid bachurim continue the summer zman into Tammuz with a rigorous schedule of learning — and ample time to recharge their physical and spiritual batteries . They are led by the Rosh Yeshiva , Rav Shlomo Avigdor Altusky ; the firstyear maggid shiur , Rav Pinchas Wachsman ; the Rosh Kollel , Rav Dovid Bender ; and other maggidei shiur and hanhala members .
Mesivta Chaim Shlomo sends a huge contingent of its bachurim to Camp Oraysa ; the Mesivta boys have their own schedule , replete with sidrei limud under the tutelage of a distinguished cadre of Mesivta rabbeim .
The entire Camp Oraysa is under the personal leadership of the indefatigable Rav Moshe Bender ,
S ’ gan Rosh HaYeshiva .
Last July , the camp inaugurated a new , 7200-square-foot , air-conditioned beis medrash , one of the largest in the region . ( See next article .) All the bachurim also enjoy the full use of the camp ’ s beautiful 100-plus acres , which include an outdoor heated pool , basketball courts , baseball fields , football fields , volleyball courts , an indoor gymnasium and of course , new and refurbished shiur rooms , staff bungalows , student bunk houses , and an air-conditioned dining hall .
In the second half of the summer , the property is filled by a dynamic frum boys ’ camp that serves over 400 children .
The campus , located down a bucolic deadend road 2.5 miles outside of Woodbourne , New York , was dedicated in 2022 by the Schron family in memory of Mrs . Marta Schron , a ” h .
