YELED V’ YALDA COLLABORATION YIELDS RESULTS

One of the new features introduced last year at the Yeshiva is its partnership with Yeled V’ Yalda( YVY), which helps many talmidim in a variety of ways. Working together with the Yeshiva’ s stellar staff of rabbeim, morahs, teachers, principals and social workers, the Yeled V’ Yalda representatives have made a supremely positive contribution to the lives of our talmidim. We look forward to continuing our efforts with them this year.
20 students were serviced through the ABA( Applied Behavioral Analysis) support program. Supports are provided in the classroom, and in students’ homes.
13 skilled paraprofessionals from YVY are employed daily in our yeshiva.
Recess social groups for six second graders twice a week.
Social skills group for seven Pre-1A boys twice a week.
After-school social skills groups for fourth graders is run once a week using a Lego and robotics curriculum.
6 students receive SEIT services in the Harriet Keilson Early Childhood Center.
YVY advocates for continued Dept, of Education support for our early childhood students.
YVY supports students of all ages with a variety of communication, social, and behavioral challenges.

A Hands-On Lesson in Kashrus

Rav Zvi Soroka’ s eighth graders were treated to a practical shiur on how to properly check vegetables for insects by Rav Yisrael Moshen, a member of the Yeshiva’ s Kollel Tirtza Devorah and the assistant administrator of the Vaad Hakashrus of the Five Towns and Far Rockaway.
