For a room that is all about function, it can be a challenge to make it feel fresh and personal. This recent bathroom renovation proves it’ s possible to create a beautiful space tailored to the needs of the homeowner. The result is a bright and airy bathroom for a senior couple, blending a stunning sage green and white colour palette with essential safety and accessibility features.
The design was guided by the client’ s desire for a colourful space, with the patterned floor tile setting the tone. To ensure safety without compromising style, the same non-slip tile extends seamlessly into the walk-in shower, making the space feel larger.
The shower features a striking green herringbone tile on the back wall, contrasted with a white subway tile on the other walls. This use of varying patterns creates visual interest while maintaining a cohesive look. Functionality was key; a built-in bench, grab bars, and heated floors were installed for comfort and safety. Ample storage was also a priority, with a central cabinet and hidden mirror storage. The final design is a perfect marriage of form and function.

TIPS TO STEAL FROM THIS SPACE:
• Play with Pattern: Use different patterns and textures in a cohesive colour palette to create visual interest.
• The Power of Three: Use an odd number of elements( like three different tiles) to create visual harmony and balance.
• Light it Right: Always install lights on different dimmer switches to control the mood and ambiance of the space.
• Think Seamlessly: Extending the floor tile into the shower can make a small bathroom feel much larger.
